purple me into the night sky,
stretched taut across the blue
universe of you

sunset me over your blistering
sun to sherbet the earth,
sweet salve me.

i am water that envelopes
your every deep dive,
that softens each fall,
and cleanses each aching
secret until it wears
smooth and without edge.

i am your pillow, your coffee,
and each cigarette,
in the madness of morning
in the velvet of evening
in the middle of each deep
ragged inhale that passes
your soft and vulnerable lips.

and i am inside you as you
are inside me for the simplest
and most purest of reasons:

i am your blood,
you are my heart,
and never the two
shall be one without
the other in this
sunteared moonkissed
life of ours, still out there,
and still waiting
to be devoured.
